Raiders of the Arc

Today in 1429 the siege of Orléans was lifted by the French Royal Army led by Joan of Arc. This was the turning point of the Hundred Years war and was the proverbial beginning of the end for the English.

I've been reading up a bit on Wikipedia about this and it has gotten my blood up to play Europa Universalis II again. The game starts about this date in history, right as the end of the Hundred Years is beginning. Playing as France or England isn't very interesting as in the long run you get so powerful you can do whatever you please, but those first few decades are kind of fun.

Is it a board game or RPG? I'm still on for Game Night...!

It's a computer game, you guide a country through history from 1419 to 1819(?). You can play any country in the world, but it's mostly Euro-centric...meaning that the European countries are modeled in more detail.

It can be a very fun gaming experience and quite rewarding, but it is a huge time investment.

I'm definetly still up for a Game Night!
