Marshmellow Flavoered Monday...
Weekend was great and a tad more active than I am accustomed to. Friday night was the big Scarborough Fair kick-off party hosted by good friends Rick and Wanda. Copious amounts of food and Guinness with live Celtic/Irish music made for a very lovely evening. I was allowed to stay the night there and in the morning was treated to an egg/mushroom casserole and biscuits as the whole group slowly got ready for Fair.
It is nice to know that other families operate pretty much the same as mine. There's lots of confusion, frustration and anxiety, but eventually everything gets going even if it is forty-five minutes later than planned. I am grateful that in this scenario I was but a hapless witness and was not obliged in any way to get involved in the chaos of organizing over half-a-dozen people for a trip to an event. I simply got to sit and wait it out, all the time enjoying the comedic gold that such situations provide.
It must be said that Fair should be experienced as a group activity, going by yourself, which I have done before, only allows for about a half-experience. You really do need someone else so you can at least make snide comments about the general level of insanity and lack of fashion sense that swirls around you. As always, I enjoyed myself. It is hard not to find some level of entertainment from the maelstrom that is Scarborough Fair and as we were relieved from dealing with one of the biggest detriments, the heat, it was a thoroughly entertaining span of time.
I managed a bit of rest after getting home about 8:45ish that night and before going over to bunny's house to swap some comics. She fed me dolmas, some Greek machination involving lamb, rice, etc. wrapped up in grape leafs, with pita bread and humas on the side. It was excellently yummy and a wonderful way to end a long day, that had begun at 7:00 A.M. Thank you bunny! And I hope that pot came clean. : )
Sunday was a bit foggy. I woke up with some really bad allergy symptoms. I've always maintained that I don't suffer from allergies, but evidently something found a weakness in my system. I spent most of the day on the couch and I finished watching Nausicca in Japanesse w/ subtitles. Sad to say it didn't really make the story much easier to follow, but I think I've got the gist of it. Mom showed up around 5:00 and we watched the Incredibles (best super hero movie ever) and then went to Two Rows for dinner.
Today I still feel like poo, maybe I need to get some benadryll?

My system's all weak too. Today has been a boogerboo on my allergies, as was last night.
