Coffee Pot Fumes

Yes, yes, so here we are once again jumping right in to yet another Monday. The weekend is still a sweet memory on the lips, with a slight after taste of powerful beverages and the faint flow of indigestion curdling in our gullets. The hangovers are gone (hopefully) and we emerge here at the beginning of a new week fully rested and restored, or conversely we have dragged our depleted carcasses into the office, unceremoniously draping them into the chair and are main lining coffee into our system.

I'll make no wild assumptions about which state *you* are in, but as for me self I went to bed early last night. I watched the first four episodes of Buffy, read comics and went to bed after a full day of playing WoW. I did forget to take my Ren Fair garb in for repair, so I'm going to have to make some emergency plans in order to get that taken care of. I'm not sure how much geekier I could have been yesterday, but I'm sure it would involve LARPing.

Saturday was fairly sedate, the requisite cardio sessions was made as I hurled my body around a section of White Rock Lake. I made it by Titan to pick up some comics, yea indeed the very ones I would read Sunday night. I picked up Ultimates 2 #5, Ocean #5, Zatanna #1, Invincible Ironman #3, the first Planetary Trade and #2 & #3 of Samurai: Heaven & Earth. Quickly, Ultimates and Ocean rock hard, Zatanna is so very bizarre (as the whole 7 Soldiers series has thus far been) and Invincible Ironman #3 is ho hum (and it hurts me to say that as someone who oft considers worshipping Ellis as deity). Ironman is suffering from multiple wounds, first and foremost is the horrendous digital art, but the lackluster story is at its best "subtle" and it lacks any of Warren's typical flair and moxy. I still hope that it will pan out, but co-worker Jon is very not pleased.

I also got to meet bunny, of FHB fame, on Saturday and that was a very pleasant experience, especially since meeting new people is something of a stress-fest for me. Seeing as we managed to make about five hours of each others lives disappear I would mark up the experience as spiffy. I will also tell you this, my dear filthy readers, if you should find yourself existing in the area of Skillman and Live Oak you must simply partake of Lakewood Landing. It's a bar! It's a restaurant! It's a seedy dive! And it is one of the coolest places to be graced with my presence ever! The juke box was to die for and while I simply enjoyed the music, bunny was able to tell me all the names of the bands…which I should have written down, but alas such is not my nature.

Friday was your ever standard get drunk, chat on IRC, write drunken poetry and then play WoW till 5:00 AM. Well, maybe not so standard, but that's how it played out. Just thank your assorted gods that Trinity sidetracked me into playing WoW and I didn't post any of the poetry. She kept me up until I very nearly passed out at the controls of poor Baras (lvl 32 Tauren Hunter) who I'm pretty sure I left in the middle of Silverpine Jungle somewhere.

So, ok…the boss is away and work is slow…I'm going to go play WoW. Happy new week!
