I just got news that one of my mom's dogs got out of her pen and got hit by the UPS truck. She didn't make it.

You know there's someting odd about a pet dying. I mean I can hear about people getting killed all the time, but when a pet gets killed it always seems sadder. I'm not sure what that says.
